Oh how I love summer! The long days, outdoor concerts, pool/beach time...it's such a leisurely and relaxed time. As much as we enjoy all of the fun in the sun, the heat can definitely take a toll on your makeup routine. Do you find that your makeup melts off by the end of the day? Well, here are a few tips to help secure your makeup so that you stay looking fresh and fleekish all day long.
The key to an all-day makeup look begins with a fresh face. Use a primer that helps balance your skin and smooth out any imperfections.Smashbox Primer Water ($32) is perfect for a barely-there look. If you need to hide some pores,Benefit’s POREfessional ($20) is your fail-proof option. Wait a few minutes to really let it set before dipping your Beautyblender ($20) orReal Techniques Sponge($5) in a long-lasting foundation like cult favorite Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation($37). With an array of colors to choose from, there’s practically a shade for everyone. Follow with a light concealer only if you need a little extra coverage here and there. My fave isMaybelline New York’s Fit Me Concealer ($7). Finally, dust on a no-fuss setting powder to keep everything in place, like the Ben Nye Bella Luxury Powder in Banana ($12).
Once you have your foundation routine down, you'll want to add some cream based products on the eyes and cheeks. My current go to cream shadow is the Maybelline Eyestudio Colortattoo Concentrated Crayon in the color Bronze Truffle. ($6). I also love Maybelline's brow gel($7) to define and set my brows. You can use any waterproof mascara if you find that your mascara runs. For blush, I suggest using a cream blush as a base and then go over it with a light dusting of a complementary powder brush for more staying power. Then just add your fave bright lip or a little gloss and you're ready to rock it out!
